As a natural light photographer I am all about being outside. Plus we live in Utah so the beauty available for our photos is sometimes unbelievable. However sometimes a session inside is just what we need. Maybe the weather is going to be bad or maybe we have littles we don't want in the cold. Or maybe we want our session to be earlier in the day as most outdoor sessions are done in the evening.
Here are some things to know if you are considering a studio for your session.
Even though this is an indoor studio I still want and prefer to use as much natural light as possible to keep my images in line with my style and edits. The studios I use are natural light studios which means they have lot's of windows and that allows a lot of sunlight. I will not use studio set up lighting but I will certainly add some lighting if needed.
Because I want to use as much natural light as possible I will shoot these sessions during the day. Usually between the hours of 10:00 and 3:00 depending on the time of year.
These are studios that allow photographers to rent the space on an hourly basis. A typical rental fee is between $50 and $100 per hour depending on the studio. This fee is in addition to your session fee.
Each studio offers a different studio space so it is important to talk to me about what your needs are. Some studios are small and great for portraits or newborns but not families. Some have different wall options and props others are more simple with white walls.
Studios are always a great option to consider. If you are interested in a studio session please contact me and we can talk more about exactly what your vision is and find the studio that is perfect.
This was a really fun photos with cousins. A gift for their grandma. We had so much fun exploring the space and creating some fun playful photos to remember this fun age for all of them.
